Post Treatment Survey Reports for Lost Land and Teal Lakes
In early August 2025, our bed-mapping experts from ERS completed point intercept and bed mapping surveys to evaluate how well the chemical applications were managing Eurasian water-milfoil in both Lost Land and Teal Lakes. All the detailed reports are available below for your review:
Overall Conclusion – The 2024 treatment successfully;
Controlled Eurasian water-milfoil long-term
Reduced nuisance and navigation impact
Promoted a more diverse and resilient native plant community
Demonstrated that targeted, data-driven management can deliver lake-wide benefits

Lake Consulting Services Update
The Quiet Lakes Improvement Association (QLIA) reviewed proposals from qualified lake consultants to support our ongoing work as proactive stewards of Ghost, Teal, Lost Land Lakes, as well as the Teal River. Following this review, the Board has selected Flambeau Engineering LLC as QLIA’s consulting partner for the next several years.
Flambeau Engineering LLC will help the QLIA evaluate and manage our lake ecology and identify lake-related grant opportunities. They will also provide guidance on lake planning and next steps. Our first priority for 2026 will be completing a dam assessment.
QLIA Board Grant Extension Request Denied for 2026 Treatment
In January, the Board requested an extension and amendment to our existing Surface Water Grant for Teal and Lost Land Lakes from the Wisconsin DNR. The grant was originally approved for $99,000, and our recent request included 5.82 acres of treatment for Steamboat Bay in Lost Land Lake. The planned 2026 treatment costs for Steamboat Bay in Lost Land Lake estimated at $14,914 was denied by the DNR – here’s a LINK to the DNR denial letter.
