VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: CLEAN BOATS, CLEAN WATERS WATER CRAFT INSPECTION
The Quiet Lake Improvement Association, (QLIA) is seeking volunteers to monitor our boat launches for the summer of 2025. The activities include checking boats and trailers for invasive species, asking boaters a few DNR supplied questions and passing out aquatic environmental pamphlets.
Boat launch volunteers are essential to protecting our lakes from new invasive species, while helping to control the cost of future invasive species treatment and removal. LANDING CAMP BOAT LAUNCH
Landing Camp Road is located on the western shore of Lost Land Lake. The site includes a gravel parking lot and boat launch. Volunteers will need to bring lawn chairs along with beverages and food. There is Port a Jon toilet at the launch.
REEL LIVIN BOAT LAUNCH
The Reel Livin Launch is part of the resort located on the most southeastern shore,(Steam Boat Bay) of Lost Land lake. You will have access to the bar bathrooms, and there is food and drinks that can be purchased. The volunteers can sit at either an outdoor picnic table or indoors when monitoring the launch. The Owners are Kevin and Elise Kroll.
Volunteers need to bring a pen and a couple copies of the Water Inspection Report along with a hard surface to write on.
There are extra copies of the watercraft inspection report at the Reel Livin Bar.
There are also extra copies in box (Realtor looking box) mounted on the backside of the DNR sign at Landing Camp Road.
