Ghost Lake Update: Aquatic Plants & Fisheries

On September 27th, 2025 Craig Pagenkopf hosted an Aquatic Plant Presentation at Boulder Lodge, discussing with residents how to identify native vs. invasive plants and protect Ghost Lake from non-native species. Practicing safet boating practices any watercraft, including kayaks that travel between lakes can bring unwanted plants into Ghost Lake.  Staying vigilant about these issues is paramount to keeping invasive plants out of Ghost Lake.

As recently disclosed, Natalie Erler from the Sawyer County Zoning & Conservation Department surveyed the lake on August 21st and reported only native aquatic plants—no invasive species were observed.

Craig also reviewed with attendees an Aquatic Plant Presentation, Ghost Lake Plant Survey, and a recent fisheries survey by Max Wolter – these information links are provided below for your review.
